Dashboard Cutouts

The dashboards in the basic version have a smooth, closed surface. If you wish to use the car’s original speakers, you will need the corresponding cutouts. These are created in a further step by cutting out the speaker openings (cutouts) and incorporating an additional mold.

Cutouts Classic Front Bumper

The “Classic” front bumper from Knightpassions is designed in its basic form as the front of Season 2 or Season 3. Due to some inquiries about whether this front is also available with cutouts for the turn signals to replicate the Season 1 version, the indicated cutouts for the plexiglass covers are cut out upon customer request and a straight fiberglass laminate is applied.

Marc Brown Front Bumper - Season 1

If you want to build a KITT replica that is as close as possible to the original from the early days of the TV series, this front bumper should be your first choice.

When Marc Brown built his KITT replica, he realized that none of the front bumpers available on the market really matched the original from the TV series. He was struck by the fact that the angle between the “upper lip” and “lower lip” was too steep on almost all front bumpers and the edges were too sharp and only looked “similar” to KITT in the TV series.

Without further ado, he designed this front himself and succeeded in creating a masterpiece. The front is absolutely symmetrical, extremely robust and accurately fitting and matches the original front of KITT (especially in the earlier episodes) from the TV series like no other front available on the market.

The front in this version “Season 1” comes with cutouts for the turn signals, which are then covered by the turn signal blackouts. Exactly as KITT was designed by Michael Scheffe in Season 1.

For this version grill bars are available. These are the strips in the slot openings for the fog lights.

Marc Brown Front Bumper - Season 2/3

If you want to build a KITT replica that is as close as possible to the original from the early days of the TV series, this front bumper should be your first choice.

The front in this version “Season 2/3” comes without cut-outs for the indicators, but with demarcations where the turn signal blackouts are. After Season 1 and the pilot film, the front of KITT was produced without the cut-outs for the indicators, but the demarcations for the covers were still present and clearly visible.

For this version grill bars are available. These are the strips in the slot openings for the fog lights.

Turn Signal Holders

The turn signal holders are suitable for all Season 1 Replica builds. Designed by Marc Brown, they allow the turn signals to be mounted in their original position between the scanner and pop-up headlights on a KITT front bumper.

"Classic Model" Front Bumper designed by Knight Passions

Fascinated by Knight Rider, Joao from Knight Passions had the idea of recreating the car from the TV series over 20 years ago. His first front was the “Classic Front”, at the time freely designed based on the images from the TV series. He founded Knight Passions and began selling the front and other parts to other enthusiasts of the series. As one of the first professional suppliers in this sector and with top quality from the very beginning, Knight Passions has secured a first-class name in the scene worldwide and the “Classic Front” has become the world’s best-selling and installed KITT front for replica builders.

This front does not quite match the look from the TV series, as the angle between the “upper lip” and “lower lip” has become somewhat acute. However, it is precisely this steep angle and the somewhat sharp edges that are the striking features of this front. It was also often copied by the competition and even model cars from KITT were designed with this front. It has its very own charm and look and is still very popular with many replica builders.

The size of the scanner opening is 3 cm (1.2 inches) high and 50.5 cm (20.2 inches) wide.

The front is available in two versions:

  • Season 1 - with large cut-outs for the turn signals, which are then covered by the turn signal blackouts. Production possible on special customer request.
  • Season 2/3 - without cut-outs for the indicators. After season 1 and the pilot film, the front of KITT was produced without the cut-outs for the indicators, but the demarcations for the covers were still present and clearly visible.

“Grill bars” are available for both versions. These are the strips in the slot openings for the fog lights.

"New Model" Front Bumper designed by Knight Passions

If you want to build a KITT replica with the look from seasons 2 and 3, when KITT’s front was a bit more angular, you will be completely satisfied with the look of this front.

After Joao from Knight Passions had a very successful first front on the market, he wanted to improve it and design a new front that represents the look of KITT from the middle episodes of the series. And he succeeded! In the meantime, he was in possession of an original front from the TV series and was therefore able to design this front, which now completely corresponds to the original. Angles, edges and curves were corrected and improved and in some cases completely redesigned. The result is this beautiful KITT front, which corresponds to the look in the series, especially from season 2 and season 3 in many scenes.

“Grillbars” are available for this front. These are the strips in the slot openings for the fog lights.

2-TV Dashboard

The new 2-TV dashboard from Knight Passions is completely redesigned and perfectly fitted and certainly the best and most accurate fitting Knight Rider dashboard on the market.

The new dashboard even has filled edges and walls for the screws on the inside so you can drill a small hole in it to screw the electronics/supports to. It has an extra edge at the bottom of the screw holes so that installing the electronics is a breeze. The back of the openings for the electronics is made completely straight and fits perfectly with the ZA Electronics overlays, so no more sanding is required, saving you a lot of tedious work. No more fust but pleasure and joy when assembling. And it’s super quick and easy.

Both sides of the dashboard are closed, so you can’t see the back of the electronics when you open the driver’s door.

Speaker openings can also be incorporated into the dashboard as a special design.

Grillbars

Especially in the first season, but also in many scenes in seasons 2 and 3, KITT had so-called “Grillbars” in the openings for the fog lights in the front bumper - strips to protect the fog lights. These grillbars can be optionally ordered for all KITT front bumpers (except for season 4), depending on which “look” of KITT you want to build or which one you like best.

For the front bumper of season 4, there are no grillbars, as KITT never had grillbars in season 4 and the fog lights were mounted further forward. In addition, the openings in the front are slightly larger and slightly curved at the top, as seen in the series. The straight grillbars would not fit visually into the overall picture here.

Hub Caps

The hub caps for the Turbo Cast Rims from the Knight Passions mold are undisputedly one of the best solutions for Knight Rider replica builders. They are just as easy to fit as the original Hub Caps, they are held in place with clips on the original retaining brackets of the Turbo Cast rim.

Marc used and developed this “2nd Sculpt Front Bumper” exclusively for his own car for a long time before designing his third front bumper, the “Phoenix Bumper” – the Marc Brown front nose that has been available until now.

What makes this 2nd Sculpt Front Bumper so special?

  • Exclusive Originality: The “2nd Sculpt Front Bumper” was personally designed by Marc Brown and is a true masterpiece. One-TV Dashboard

KITT received an interior upgrade in series production and the dashboard changed completely. The two small screens have been combined into one large monitor, which is the most striking feature of KITT’s new dashboard. The One TV dashboard from Knight Passions is perfect if you want to have a large and functional screen to work with, for example in case you install a touchscreen.

Both sides of the dashboard are closed, so you can’t see the back of the electronics when you open the driver’s door.

This dashboard is characterized by the usual high fitting accuracy, quality and true-to-series design.

The matching frame for the screen cut-out is also available here.

Overhead-Console designed by Knight Passions

The ceiling console corresponds to the design from the second season onwards. This is more elegant than the version from the first season, as it is slimmer and gives the console a sleeker look.

The buttons, which must be present on the sides and at the bottom, also differ from the season 1 version. The console of the 3rd or 4th season is identical to the 2nd season, only the buttons are different. The openings for the buttons are made by the customer himself, so he has the option of equipping the console entirely according to his own ideas and in line with the desired season. The console is fully adapted to the roof of the car, so the fit is perfect.

The console already comes out of the mold perfectly, it looks like a painted part. So the painter doesn’t have to smooth it out at all, it just needs to be sanded, primed and painted, and that’s it!

Season 4 Front Bumper designed by Knight Passions

KITT was given a completely new look in the TV series. The front bumper in particular has undergone some very striking changes.

The demarcations for the blinker cut-outs have completely disappeared and a smooth transition to the engine bay at the side of the scanner opening has been created. The opening slots have been made slightly wider, slightly curved and more angular. Overall, the front has become somewhat “beefier”, more angular and larger in appearance.

Anyone who wants to recreate this look from KITT in their replica will be very satisfied with the Season 4 front from Knight Passions. Appearance, accuracy of fit, wall thickness, surface and the high quality characterize this front - as usual with the developments of Knight Passions.

Turn Signal Blackouts

For the front designed by Marc Brown, there are Turn Signal Blackouts available for the Season 1 version. These are the plexiglass covers on the left and right of the scanner, which allow the turn signals to shine through while maintaining a smooth transition with the hood. This allows the use of the original turn signals.

The Turn Signal Blackouts are available in two tint variations: Dark brown, like the original film car, and lightly tinted with higher light transmission.

Note: In many countries, covering or partially darkening the lighting devices of vehicles is not allowed in road traffic. Please inform yourself about the regulations and always act responsibly.
